Basket made of waste paper: [2007-08-06] A veritable waste paper basket: Make use of old newspapers to create this nice piece! It can be painted afterwards if desired. Needed: 24 large newspaper spreads, (glue) 1. Fold two spreads together to form one strong band (here 7cm wide) as shown in the picture above. You'll need 12 bands for this basket. 2. Weave bands together as shown in the picture. After finishing the bottom fold the ends of the bands up. 3. Start weaving the sides. You'll probably need to join two bands together to reach around the basket. 4. After 2 layers fold the ends of the vertical bands down and push ends inside the weave. Tip: Pegs help the basket keep it's shape during the work.
